“MAY THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST MAKE THE RESURRECTION OF NIGERIA POSSIBLE” – [Dr Ope Banwo, Mayor Of Fadeyi and Founder of Naija Lives Matter Calls For “Make Nigeria Great Again” [MANGA] Agenda

Today, we celebrate the most powerful moment in human history: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter reminds us that no matter how dark the night, how deep the betrayal, or how final the grave seems—resurrection is possible.

And as we rejoice in the risen Christ, I want to remind every Nigerian that resurrection is not just spiritual. It is political. It is economic. It is national. Nigeria, too, can rise again.
Like Jesus, Nigeria has been crucified:

• Betrayed by the very people who were meant to protect her.
• Pierced by corruption, insecurity, and poverty.
• Buried under the weight of failed leadership and shattered dreams.

But like Jesus, Nigeria can also rise—if we embrace the principles that brought Christ out of the grave.

Among them are:
• Sacrifice over selfishness
• Truth over convenience
• Forgiveness over vengeance
• Hope over hopelessness
• Purpose over passivity
• And now, most urgently: ACCOUNTABILITY over apathy.

Let’s be clear: No nation resurrects without holding its leaders accountable.

Not just at the federal level—but from the grassroots, to the local government, and especially at the state level, where the rot is often hidden in plain sight.

Too many governors act like kings. Too many local government chairmen are invisible emperors.

We complain about the presidency while we ignore the thieves next door.

But resurrection requires responsibility.

And that responsibility starts with us—the people.
• We must stop worshiping politicians and start questioning them.
• We must demand budgets be published, contracts be audited, and promises be fulfilled.
• We must stop clapping for oppressors and start confronting them—with truth, courage, and unity.
• We must stop selling our votes and start using our voices.

Christ rose to give us life. Nigeria must rise to give us a future.

But there can be no resurrection without reform.

No Easter without accountability.

No national hope without local honesty.

So this Easter, let the tomb of silence be broken.

Let the stone of ignorance be rolled away.

And let a new Nigeria step out—bold, beautiful, and born again through the spirit of truth, sacrifice, and civic responsibility.

This is not just Easter.
This is a call to resurrection.
This is a call to action.
Easter is proof that even dead things can live again.
Even buried nations can rise.
Even Nigeria can resurrect.

But just like Christ’s resurrection was not automatic—it came through sacrifice, truth, obedience, and divine intervention—Nigeria’s resurrection will also require action.
This is why Naija Lives Matter insists on one powerful principle this Easter:
ACCOUNTABILITY.

Nigeria cannot rise again until Nigerians rise up to hold their leaders accountable.

And we must start from the grassroots, not just Abuja. We have all focused on abuj while our elected governors and local representatives continue to eat our breakfast, lunch and dinner . They are supposed ot be the ones that bring our govt closer. The ones to bring dividend of democracy to our towns and villages…. But so far most govenrors have failed us. They owe months of salaries while going ot abuja every month ot collect facs. To make Nigeria great again wwe must start at our local and state levels even as we keep an eye on the federal

• Hold your local government chairman accountable.
• Hold your state governor accountable.
• Stop blaming only the president while your state hospitals are empty and your local schools are dead.
• Ask questions. Demand answers. Refuse silence.

We are tired of powerful governors behaving like monarchs.
We are tired of local government embezzlers hiding behind federal failures.
We are tired of the people staying silent while Nigeria dies slowly.

So today, as Christ rose, let conscience rise in every Nigerian.

Let courage rise in our youth.
Let conviction rise in our communities.
Let us rise as a people and say, “ENOUGH!”
Enough of suffering in silence.
Enough of celebrating thieves.
Enough of selling our future for crumbs.

This Easter, Naija Lives Matter proclaims: Nigeria must rise again. And the people must lead that resurrection.
Not by violence.
Not by hate.
But by bold civic action, relentless accountability, and unshakable hope.

Christ rose.
Nigeria can too.
But only if you rise first.

This is Dr OPe Banwo, FOunder of Naija Lives Matter, slef appointed Mayor of Fadeyi, and we are committed to Make Nigeria Great Again.

Not by slogans, but by holding every leader—from ward councilor to state governor—to the light of truth.

Happy Easter.
God bless you.
God bless Nigeria.
