PETER OBI VS APC GOVT – WHY IS PETER OBI LIVING ‘RENT-FREE’ IN THE HEADS OF BATISTS? By Dr Ope Banwo, Mayor Of Fadeyi

Ore mi, I know APC people and Tinubu Loyslists will not like this but it’s time someone starts asking them: Why are you so obsessed with a man you are so sure can’t win any elections? Why is it that a man you love to ridicule is living rent free in your heads? Now let me declares what I have been saying for more than a year now before batists too come for me as Obidients have been doing when I call it as it is: I’m this coming 2027,  I am not supporting anybody but Nigeria. I am only interested in anything that will benefit nigeria. I don’t care about parties or personalities over nigeria . This season I’m an equal-opportunity observer this time. I’m simply calling out patterns as they appear — and as things appear to me right now in my Fadeyi Balconr, the APC/BATIST obsession with Peter Obi is impossible to ignore.

They swear up and down that Obi “can’t win.”

They insist he’s “not relevant.”

They mock him as a “social-media candidate.”

Some even comfort themselves with the idea that the man “cannot even win five states.”

Yet they monitor him like a volatile stock. They hang on his every word and they see his shadow in every wind that blows at them .

Frankly at this time it is becoming laughable especially since they refused to acknowledge his growing national influence among threat masses and his unshakeable Obidient supporters 

I have noticed at any time an issue hits the table, the first reflex from the ruling-party ecosystem — from Bayo Onanuga down to the hungriest BATIST on Twitter — is to ask: “What did Obi say?”WHY IS PETER OBI LIVING RENT-FREE IN THE HEADS OF BATISTS?

I’m simply calling out patterns as they appear — and as things appear right now, APC/BATIST obsession with Peter Obi is impossible to ignore.

If there’s a national conversation, they all rush to analyze Peter Obi’s position — as if Nigeria is on pause until he comments.

Even when Obi refuses to speak, they still won’t rest. From Reno Omokri down to the biggest BATIST, they start second-guessing what he “really thinks,” what he “plans,” and what he really “means,”.”

So I want all Batista and APC supporters to help me understand this contradiction:

How does a man you insist is irrelevant somehow dominate your daily political consciousness?

In politics, people don’t obsess over ghosts.

They don’t mobilize armies against mirages.They don’t fight shadows unless those shadows worry them.

That’s why — speaking strictly as an observer — this behavior looks less like confidence and more like fear wearing the mask of ridicule.

And here’s the detail that exposes the whole thing: APC voices keep telling us Atiku is the “real” opposition, But watch their behavior. Nobody tracks Atiku’s silence. Nobody dissects Atiku’s mood. Nobody breaks their backs interpreting what Atiku didn’t say.

But Peter Obi? He is the permanent notification alert.

So I’ll ask again, plainly:

If Peter Obi cannot win…

If he cannot even win five states…If he is not relevant…

Why is he living rent-free in your head?

Because whether you admit it or not, obsession is rarely accidental — it is often as a result of intense fear or intense love fear. When you are obsessed with analyzing Peter Obi’s speeches or interviews instead of spending your time and resources showing us the good things you are doing then you are putting peter obi on a pedestal you keep telling us he does not deserve  

Most WhatsApp threads of the ruling party supporters is now dominated by discussions on Peter Obi, the same man they insist is irrelevant. Frankly it’s becoming laughable 

I recently spent some days in Dallas with my older brother . Every time I am in the car with my brother who is a Tinubu supporter, he always has something negative to talk about peter obi and not much to tell me about how Tinubu is improving the condition of citizens .

Even when we are discussing some of the policies of Tinubu, including the ones I even like as a neutral observer, his jabs always go to can ‘peter obi do this ??’ Instead of breaking the policies down for me to understand better

So I want all Tinubu supporters to help me understand this contradiction:

Peter Obi’s handle is the most visited handle on Twitter and Facebook 

So I’ll ask again, plainly: If Peter Obi cannot win… If he cannot even win five states…If he is not relevant… then Why is he living rent-free in the heads of BATISTS?

Because whether APC supporters admit it or not, obsession is rarely accidental — It’s a deliberate reaction to fear or consequence of love .. and we all know they don’t love Peter Obi. So it must be fear of what he represents to their stranglehold on power

As a Nigerian citizen I do not hold brief for Peter Obi. I won’t even get drawn into discussions whether he is a better choose of not. Let Nigerians in nigeria argue that . I am interested in the Tinubu govt spending more quality time explaining it Nigerians all the good things are are allegedly doing and the great things they will do if given second chance

From my vantage view, this unnecessary elevation and fear of peter obi in your daily discus la only makes me wonder at what exactly the ruling party knows about peter obi they we don know . Why are they so obsessed with testing him down even as the tell themselves peter obi is inconsequential to their ambition
